Himachal Pradesh is set to launch infrastructure projects in three states that will not only boost the state’s economy but also generate more jobs and footfalls. The project addresses the rising housing demand and enhances public convenience.
Rajesh Dharmani, Town and Country Planning Minister, Himachal Pradesh has given nod for three townships to be launched in Himachal Pradesh to address the housing demand and the public convenience. The ambitious urban development project will come up with new townships in Baddi, near Kangra airport, and Morni Hills.
Speaking at the Board of Directors meetings of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA), Dharmani has announced the approval of the preliminary activities for key projects, with an initial allocation of INR 5 crore.
The proposed township will be at Chandigarh Township at Sheetalpur, Baddi in Solan District and a new township in Morni Hills in Pachhad of Sirmaur district, and a planned development township at Lunj near Kangra Airport.
These projects are aimed to modernise urban areas and create strategic residential hubs along high growth corridors. Under the project, 919 residential units on 21 bighas under the first phase of the Jathia Devi Project near Shimla will be developed. The estimated investment for the project will be INR 1,327 crore.
A special quota of plots and flats will be reserved for Olympic and Asian Games medallists, gallantry award winners, and children’s bravery award recipients. Commercial and infrastructure projects have also been approved by the board. It includes 17 shop complex in Ghumarwin with the investment of INR 7.69 crore and the development of 130 plots in Shri Jwala Ji Shakti Vihar Colony, Kangra with the investment of INR 18.61 crore.
